Women’s Super League Opening Round

The action gets under way for the much anticipated 2019-20 season on September 7th with the Manchester derby. Newcomers United will be looking to start their top flight campaign with a bang against arch rivals, and last season’s runners up, City at Etihad. The other Saturday game will be Bristol City facing Brighton & Hove Albion at Ashton Gate (*fixture moved forward from original scheduling).

Sunday will see the remaining four games of the opening round; Chelsea host Tottenham for a London derby, Birmingham City and Everton face off in Solihull Moors, and Liverpool take on Reading at Prenton Park.

Closing out the opening round is arguably the most anticipated match with reigning champs Arsenal hosting West Ham for another cross-town rivalry. Will the class of the Gunners continue where last season left off? Here’s hoping for some Miedema magic.
